God's Design

We came across this one in our theology class at Western. Nick Vujicic was born without legs or arms. Listen to him describe who his Creater was . . . and is.
Too often, when faced with issues of birth-defect and tragic circumstances, we try to save God of any responsibility or connection with the situation. At most we say "He allowed it" to happen. But after watching this clip, we discovered that this is not what Nick believes, nor is it what the Bible teaches. The disciples made the same mistake when encountering a blind man. They asked Jesus whether it was because of his own sin or his parent's sin that he was born blind. Jesus replied that it was neither, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life" (John 9:3). Similarly, at the burning bush when Moses did not want to go before Pharaoh and free the Israelits becuase he was slow of speech, God reminds him that it was He who "gave man his mouth. . . who makes him deaf or mute . . . who gives him sight or makes him blind" (Exodus 4:11).
God is actively at work in all circumstances for the good of those who love Him (Rom 8:23). Our favorite part is when Nick explains that God humbled him by telling him that "he does not have arms or legs to be nailed to the cross. But Christ was nailed to the cross in your place that you might go and share the gosple like never before."
Enjoy this incredible testimony of God's graciousness.
